LV wins 2007 N-S Challenge!!!

Well, it is official. I will be relocating to harrah's Las Vegas corporate offices over the next couple months. I officially start in LV on Sept. 5th, but will take at least a couple months to do the house sale things, etc.

I will miss MOST OF YOU :) and our Thursday meets quite a bit. I'm sure I will pester you a lot here on SECCS though and will drop in when I am up her annoying IGT, Bally's or other gaming folks.

If you care, my new ambiguously gay title is "Lead Architect, IT Infrastructure". Now that makes it crystal clear what I do, doesn't it?

I may be dumping some furniture such as dressers, and maybe a couch or two before I go... Bob???

I do have the advantage of moving to an area with a number of race courses, and such, so will have to get active in that scene.

My real estate agent is going to be so confused...

Dean: I need:
3-6 car garage
CC&Rs that permit parking of trailers/RVS/cars/trucks on property.
Agent: Bedrooms/baths, square feet?
Dean: Yeah, those would be good too. :)

Congrats man! Enjoy seeing Allon 15x more often every year. :D

MattR 2006-08-17 11:06 AM

We'll miss your smiling face and quiet, soft-spoken nature, but it's a good career move for you, I think LV will be a fine place to live, there's a lot to do there. See you in Hawthorne, and I may go ahead and run some of the LV rtegion autocrosses next spring to tune up for our season...

MikeK 2006-08-17 11:13 AM

Wow, you sure kept that quiet! Congratulations, and good luck in LV!

(I assume you will still be doing all the audi club events, right?)

MPREZIV 2006-08-17 11:15 AM

HOLY CRAP DEAN! You will be missed dude! You've been a BIG asset to the area, as far as I'm concerned, and I'm sure all of us who've learned a thing or two from you can say that it's GREATLY appreciated!

Take care of yourself down there! Seeing that my *new* (old) girlfriend lives in Vegas, I'm sure I'll have to look you up whenever I'm down that way visiting!

Again, thanks for everything man!

That would be awesome let me know what you have.

JonnydaJibba 2006-08-17 11:24 AM

Wow! That's awesome. GL with the heat. Sounds like you'll be having fun down south.

sybir 2006-08-17 11:34 AM

Good luck, dude. You need a warehouse with a loft ;)

sperry 2006-08-17 11:40 AM

Sell me your house for cheap.

I mean... I'll miss ya buddy! ;)

But seriously, aside from the heat, Vegas is probably a pretty cool place to live for a bit. I dunno what you'll do w/ all that AWD down there with no snow though. :?: Also, I'm sure you'll be seing Nick a bunch for work, so you're not escaping completely.

Nick Koan 2006-08-17 12:02 PM

Damnit, I was going to call dibs on the house :p

Well, this is great news for you and that's awesome. We'll miss ya, but at the same time huge congrats are in order. Like Scott said, if I keep my current position of 'developer most likely to travel a lot' I'll probably be down there often.

Oh, and I hope you guys (Harrah's) seriously considers moving that IT lab in Vegas.

Interesting thought...

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I'm not gone yet, you are stuck with me for a while longer.

If anyone is seriously interested in the house, let me know. It will not get listed for a little bit, and realtor fees could be saved, though th company is already paying mine! The relocation plan is pretty sweet.

Bob, will let you know on furniture. I know at least one dresser, and 1 couch I won't be moving.

And Mike, if you ate Sushi, you would already know... :P

AWD + Desert = :) And there is Mt. Charlston in the winter. And yes, I plan on making all Audi club events, and possibly other groups as well.

Not knowing is a small price to pay! :)

You should change the title to "Matt wins BSP next year!" ;)

Woo! Congratulations Dean. I remember you talking about this when I was still living in Reno. Back then it was only a possiblity. So will Debbie be taking your place now at Harrah's Reno?
Moving up in the corperate world.

Lord no, we have completely different jobs. (Even though I used to be Dean's boss for awhile, lol.)

And - about this thread's title -- LOL!

Ezdno 2006-08-17 08:54 PM

Damn you I am jealous. I want to move to Henderson. Congrats on the move, I have been talking to my friends at Mikohn on such a venture for myself. I guess I will have to be the resident Dean in Reno for the time being.

Thanks for all you help with my car and crap.

If Bob dont want that couch let me know.

doubleurx 2006-08-18 08:31 AM

Congrats Dean. I don't know if I told you, but I did some work with Harrahs a few years back. I did a house for Tony and Big Phil's house looking over Reno.

You will be missed. I guess this gives us one more reason to attend some of the Audi events next year.

Best wishes in your new digs.

AtomicLabMonkey 2006-08-18 10:24 AM

Good luck dude! The Reno region is losing a big resource.
