So my car got NAILED!!!! Need advice!!!
Ok, so I was in the school's parking lot today, went to park my car and WHAM!!!! I was backed into by this guy with a lifted S-10. So this brings me to this... I need to know where to go to get the car fixed, the guy has progressive and I need to go to a place on progressive's list so if they screw it up, they can fix it over and over again.... cuz we all know thats exactly whats gonna happen. So I'm in search of a body shop to fix the damage. I will post pics tommorow, but for tonight here it is:
The rear passenger side quarter panel is pushed in at least 6 inches, the fuel door is busted, paint is scraped to hell and im praying that the tube leading down to the fuel tank is not broken/bent/nething else. So give me your choices for repair places. |
You'll have to ask Progessive where they want you to take it, although most bodyshops will make sure you are satisfied before you take the car back.

I took my car to Steve's Collison Center here in Reno, and it came back pretty much perfect.
During this whole thing, I ended up talking with a Progressive adjuster there, so I'm sure its one of their prefered shops. Also, Steve's Collision also gives a lifetime limited warranty, so you won't even have to go through Progressive (theoretically) if you aren't happy with their work. |
Steve's is a Progressive preferred shop. They may repaint my entire car since Redwood Autobody (also on their list) sucks so bad. Do not ever take your car to Redwood Auto Body. :twocents:

alright.... sounds like steve's is the place

You don't have to use who Progressive wants you to. You get to choose, not them.
Concourse. They guarantee their work, so you won't need Progressive's "list". |

I took both my RX8's to Concours. For the blue one, they worked with me to prove there was structural damage, so I could have it claimed as a total loss. For the red one, they did an awesome job with replacing all the damaged parts from the sand damage, and the paint job was awesome. |
I've had nothing but top-shelf work done by Bruce at Shaber Ave Autobody. But it's tough to get in there (they only work on 2 cars at a time usually and they do 90% custom car stuff... think Hot August Nights BelAires and the like). They're also probably not on any insurance places lists 'cause they're so small.

kustom kreations in carson is a good place to go. they are under progressive too. they replaced my whole extra cab panel on my truck and side of the truck and it came back perfect.

I thought your truck was totalled?

I would say preferred auto body in carson is my top pick, Then
kustom kreations in carson I had some damage from hitting a raccoon on my 03 WRX which kustom kreations fixed up , but you could tell their molding word. preferred auto body fixed my sti and you couldn't tell it wasn't mind (other then the fact i own it) i then proceeded to rock out the new modeling pieces of the rear wheel. :( preferred auto body did use more new pieces where as kustom kreations repaired existing ones. but preferred auto body got my car back to me much sooner. |

Speel chekc plz, k thx. :p |
Steve's did an awesome job with my 87 Chevy pickup. All new body work and custom paint turned out very nice. My dad's shop has done buisness with him before, with no complaints for the most part.

I love that line insurance companies give you about places they authroize or prefered repair shops. It is ILLEGAL for an insurance company to make you use a shop or try to make you use a certain shop. You by law can choose any place you want to fix your car. when time to pick it up refuse it if its not repaired to your liking. Insurance company has no choice but to pay for it.
**edit** agree Kustom Kereation and Gilson auto body in carson |
They don't require it, but if you don't go to one of their "preferred" places, they won't go to bat for you if the quality of the work isn't to your liking.
