This is the same dude (Michel Gondry) that did the Daft Punk "Around the World" video w/ all the dancers and robots and crap. That song is permanently burned into my head 'cause MTV used to play it like every 3rd video back then (and yes back in '97 they actually played videos... though it was the beginning of the end...).

The dude is a complete wack job. Half of his ideas are from nightmares. I think he is genious. He puts sound to picture and it works out pretty well.
