Tyson's Official DISC GOLF. MEET!
Well kids I really want to take you all disc golfing. Basically this is what I did every single weekend before I started doing auto-X. And I actually misssd Sunday of the last Auto-x b/c I really wanted to go bad. This is a really easy to learn hard to master kinda sport. All the rules are like basic golf and so on.
http://www.disclife.com http://www.pdga.com/ http://discgolf.com/ The courses in our area include: 1Trukee, CA. and 2Tahoe(Bijoux Park), CA. and 3Tahoe(Zypher Cove), NV. and teh coolest: 4Kirkwood Ski Resort Course!http://kirkwood.com/discgolf.shtml I am not going to put a date up just yet. I am feeling out the waters a bit. I know it look busy for most of us for the next couple of weekends. But I still wanted to post this up. You can still disc golf when it gets chilly out, it's just a little hard on the hands, still fun. You will NOT need to buy Discs or anything b/c I have been doing this awhile and I have a massive collection of discs I can lend to you. -Tyson |
I used to play a ton of ultimate frisbee when I was in Iowa... mucho fun! This looks like a more relaxing way to play, I'm in! 'Course it'll be snowing by the time I have a free weekend...
|
I am avid frisbee person as well. Haven't played ultimate, or golf for at least a couple years...
What we need is a local park, and we can play the "hit the tree" version of golf... Heck, it would be fun just to get out and play on a weekday evening... The park at Mayberry, and McCarren might be a good choice... Do we allow Aerobees for "Drives"? Some people play that you have to use the same frisbee for an entire hole... Actually, do you know about the reno/tahoe frisbee golf group on yahoo... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tahoedisc/ Sounds like they setup at Rancho occasionally. |
Screw Aerobee's... they go to far... so far I constantly lose 'em! :(
|
Well, they do have a hole in the middle, so biologically that might be possible, but doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun.
:P |
Well I often play a course me and my brother designed at UNR.
It's pretty fun, basically going around the lower campus. I play disc golf, which does not allow areobees to be used as a driver, although there are differnt types of disc that are designed for driving. mid-range, and putting. Different weights can also play a role in overall distance depending how well your throwing form is. I have a video that I will bring to the meet which gives a instruction on proper forearm distance disc throwing. |
