GST Motorsports takes 1st AWD Unlimited, Buttonwillow, CA

Following a tough couple of weeks since Subiefest spent trouble shooting and fixing the fueling issues we encounted we finally got the car running for this past weekends Redline Time Attack at Buttonwillow.

There were plenty of fast cars out there in our class but most notable were the Speed Gallery Porsche 996 and Crawford STI.

During the course of the weekend we stuck to our game plan which was to keep the rpm's down during the testing on Saturday and not really push the car until the actual timed sessions on Sunday.

The plan during the first session was to run the car at full rpm's but not the full power map on the Hydra ECU. During this session we managed to run a low 1:51 with the Porsche only a couple of tenths off our pace.

We decided to run the real map on the car for the second and final session given how close the gap was with the Speed Gallery Porsche and let Brian loose. Fortunately for us the Porsche could not bring it's time down in the final session as our wing mount snapped and flipped the wing 45 degrees basically making a huge parachute creating so much drag and downforce the wing risers snapped through the carbon trunk lid.

Even with the wing Brian was still able to manage a 1:50.38.

We would to thank all of our sponsors for their continued help and effort.

Finally here is the in car from the second timed session http://youtube.com/watch?v=OxK531lZXDU

Damn Mike, that car is looking mean these days! That thing sounds like the friggen Space Shuttle on the in-car...

Please tell me my car won't be anywhere near that fast, Brian's scaring me with all the work he's having to do to keep it on track.
