F YOU Back Seat!
2 Attachment(s)
Yeah, it's not the monster that Scott just finished in his car, but I followed Dean's advice and added a "good" harness bar attached to a little roll-over protection.
Big thanks to Pete for helping me out with the install! |
Looks great. How long did it take you Sat.? Wish I'd been around to help. I checked out the STI version that Jim Payne had out at RFR. I may have to do it.
You going to add a bit more padding still? Don't want you to bang your head, no mater what music you listen to. :) Did you leave the rear seat in just for appearance? |
Thats pretty awesome! can you still see out your mirror pretty well?
|
Those front seats don't match! You'd better sell me the other one.
|
It took us a couple hours to install. I plan on getting some of the "better" high density padding from Summit asap, but I don't get paid until this afternoon... The top bar is farther away from your head in the seated position than it looks in the pics, but still... I just put the rear seat in for sound deadening more than anything. I drove that sucker to Sac once with the rear seat out, and wanted to shoot myself by the time I got to Gold Ranch!
View out of the rear view mirror is still pretty good! The diag. brace is visible in the corner of the mirror, but the view is DEF. not obstructed. Not a chance Mike... |
What Pete do hold the pipes together with his iphone while you tightened them.
|
Fuck that nasty back seat.
|
Cory, I have like 4 or 5 pieces of the SFI foam in my garage. I'm off work this week and on vacation, and in town today and tomorrow if you want to come by. I owe you for tire mounting and I'd be happy to hook you up w/ some of that padding for nothing.
Plus, I'm gonna have to get you to put me on the books over at Nissan for a clutch replacement before the next race... |
No, Pete actually HELPED! It was a bit of a bitch getting the main hoop in, until we figured which direction it goes in through the doors. It was nice having an extra pair of hands to be sure I didn't slip and bust out my windshield!
Scott, that would be awesome! I can def. use some of the more dense padding up on the top. How thick is the padding you got? And I'll have to check with Keoni and see when we could do that clutch... |
The bar looks awesome Cory. I was glad to help just so I can look through your back windows at the meet.

Cool! I know they sell it at Summit up to 1.5" which is pretty f*ing thick IMO, but .5" is exactly what I was looking for! Tonight's out, but I'll see if I can hit you up tomorrow and come down!
|
That thing looks nice!! Glad I ran into you on Saturday to check it out....
|
That sick G!
|
It looks great Cory! Is it the bolt-in or welded?
I won't lie, I lawled after reading Tyson's response. |
It's bolted in, but at a point in the future that I feel like making it more permanent, I've got a buddy who does Baja cages, and may have him weld it for me.
