welcome!
Sorry I don't have any suggestions, but I'm sure someone will chime in soon.

OEM may be your only full strut choice. Otherwise, they are likely to be inserts which typically don't do as well over time.

I couldn't find anything with a quick search.

What is your objective in moving away from stock? If you aren't also changing springs, not sure what the advantage will be. The OE stuff is tuned pretty well for the springs.

No reason other than I want the soft feel to be gone...I found out that KYB makes one...I just wonder how the ride is...

If you want to eliminate the "soft" I'd look at springs, or coilovers, not struts.

Over damping a set of springs to change ride characteristics is only a good idea when you are trying to meet some competition rules like in Stock autocross classes.

Dean's right. For a stiffer setup, see if you can find some good performance springs with the right spring rates to accompany the KYB's you found (for all 4 corners). Otherwise, pick up some stock replacements from www.subaruparts.com or www.subarugenuineparts.com.
