I won't be using it myself, although it did cost me a fair chunk o' change. :nerd:

100_Percent_Juice 2007-08-20 08:03 PM

DOPAHHHHHH!

Dean 2007-08-20 09:59 PM

When he gets old enough to tell his friends about how Dad got him a "real racing seat" for the car you will get all the payback you need.

I know a bunch of Audi folks with these and the Simpson one and they have nothing but good things to say about them.

Good choice.

Do they make a booster style seat? My son is big enough to not need the full child seat, but still requires the booster.

yeah we had the simpson one and all it was a "graco"(find it at any walmat/target) seat with simpson iron on decals with a $70 premium.

rubberbiscuitt 2007-08-21 05:13 AM

oh and the recaro seat looks nice. too bad my kid graduated to booster.

M3n2c3 2007-08-21 07:25 AM

This one converts to booster, but costs $250 - a little pricey for booster-only use. They do have a booster model (30-80lbs) for ~$130 on speedwaremotorsports.com.

JonnydaJibba 2007-08-21 02:30 PM

Wow, expensive accessory for a baby.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-08-21 03:31 PM

Babies make project car budgets look like spare change.

I think Scott's Frankenbaby is in College already. :)

Jeremiah, I'm betting you didn't know that I sell those. I probably ship 20-30 of those seats a week. I'm certified child seat tech. How do you like so far? If you have any questions, hit me up. I know these things like the back of my hand.

They do make a booster, 2 actually. One is definately better than the other, but with the added safety features and comfort features, comes cost. The Recaro child seats are fantastic and are manufactured by Recaro. PM me if you have any other questions. My family got a couple of these from me for Christmas. Great seats.

Well, I knew you work at speedware, but I certainly didn't know you were the go-to guy for kid's seats. ;)

I really dig it so far. It's crazy adjustable, and seems really sturdy. I like the buckles that they use for the lower LATCH belts, too - much easier to use than the usual hooks.

I'm sure the boy appreciates the huge head bolsters, since he can fall asleep without his neck bending in half.

I wish I had some spare change :P

SlickNick112 2007-08-22 07:55 AM

That's me.......Go To guy for child seats! It's cool, I'm glad you like it. Like I said earlier, let me know if you have any questions on it. So when does your boy get to ride during one of your Auto-X runs?!! Ha, ha.

WRCsubeRS 2007-08-22 08:46 PM

...and its a wife friendly addition to the car! ;)

Yeah, I can't buy a better seat for myself, but she's ok with one for the boy. . .

Unfortunately Bell doesn't make racing helmets in size XXXXXXS, so autox is out for a while. ;)

SlickNick112 2007-08-23 10:25 AM

Yeah, I figured.....

That's how it alway's works. Stuff for the kids, OK, stuff for me, NO!
