New to the board.

Hey guys I am new to the board. Some of you may already know me, but for those who don't my name is Shawn. I drive a slighttly modded 1995 Honda Prelude(hence my username and license plate). The only mods I have done so far are:

AEM cold air intake(polished).
Energy Suspension polyurethane motor mount inserts.
16"x7.5" Konig Verdicts.
Nitto 450 performance tires.

Soon to have:

Brembo NSX brake swap
Tein SS coilovers.

Thats pretty much it. I hope to have great conversations here and waiting for the next WRC/Initial D get together.

I see you found the site. Enjoy!

Hey man, good to see ya on here!

I just noticed this post... I gotta start reading the forums, and not just replying to threads that I get email alerts for. hehe

Hey Shawn,

Here is a awsome pic of your next car:

From some guys home page (http://www.freedombound.com/matt/nissan.htm) to give him credit.

Makes me want to go out and get one.

ArthurS 2003-02-27 05:49 PM

The Lude had mentioned getting a 240SX so I saw this pic. Not to sure what year.

Price wise, I think it is a pretty nice car. I think I would go with a Z also, but this car would be a nice second car deal.

240 sx.

Yeah, that a good looking car. But the more I reaserch into 240's, the more I lean towards towards the older models. If I get one, it will be an 89-94 with 180sx tails.
http://www.autoimaging.com/gpsports/g4_180_rr_lg.jpgI could go oldschool and get an 89 coupe with an S13 front.
http://www.autoimaging.com/d-style/msports/s13_lg.jpg
Or go with the ever-so-stylish S15 front.
http://www.autoimaging.com/gpsports/g4_s15_fr_lg.jpgI'm still undecided.

That would be a 97-98 240sx. In Japan they call them Kouki's. It means "New Version". Just thought you'd like to know.

The only problem with that car is it probably rides like shit... look how low it is, it could only have like 1" of suspension travel at the most... you'd be riding around on the bumpstops most of the time. With that little travel it won't handle very well either. Looks dope though, hehe.

I said I want "one" not "this one"... I wouldn't lower mine so much, or have a C/F hood, or that big-ass spoiler. This particular one is pretty sweet looking, but mine'd be more practical. My point was simply that the S15's look sweet!

BTW: this one is prolly on coilovers w/ adjustable ride height.. They prolly lowered the hell out of it for the photo shoot. I'll bet it handles pretty well up at a reasonable height.

MMMmmmmm.....Veilside.....180SX......

http://www.veilside.com/veilsideusa/...0ciiifront.jpg

ShawnS 2003-03-05 10:45 PM

Veilside = $$$

Veilside kits are sweet. But you have to have to have some bling'ity bling bling to get one. The 240sx kits average around $5,000-$7,000.

And yes that S15 is on coilovers. The reason the car is squating like that is because thats is the fad in Japanese magazines. Especially drifting mags. Mmmmmmm..........drifting.

ArthurS 2003-03-07 12:27 PM

OKAY.....This is what you do. Save up a bunch of money and get a

Mazdaspeed RX-8

http://www.supercars.com/images/news...eedrx70001.jpg

So beautiful........I just want to touch it..... :o

sperry 2003-03-07 12:37 PM

woah.

tysonK 2003-03-24 06:42 PM

an 240 older(the year you said you liked) one has been sitting down the street unused for like two years now, he might want to sell it for the right price, it's a white, it does have an auto, but i think you wanted to do the s15 front clip conversion right so it does not matter what it has as a trans,, well if you are interested i'll see you again at the next meet and we can talk it up,

Well the first factor I consider is the tranny. I always look to see if it's a auto or stick. Because it is an auto, it really isn't my cup of tea. But it all matters what the condition is. If the car is clean with a straight body and low miles then it may be worth converting the tranny when I do the SR20DET swap. How does the car look? Thanks for the heads up Tyson. :D

tysonK 2003-03-25 10:12 PM

It looks pretty good, but I'll take a closer look.
*puts on dark clothes*

BOO 2003-04-13 07:31 PM

So, Because it's "Mazdaspeed" does that mean it's a TURBO ?
