Screw you Matt, and the Angels.

Salmon shouldn't have walked.

Spezio is a bitch, and his band sucks. :P

That is all.

MattR 2003-09-17 03:45 AM

Can you believe that! I didn;t get to watch the game, but I saw the A's up 4-3 and figured it was done...hahahaa.

MattR 2003-09-17 09:22 AM

What exactly is happening? Are you getting the detonation or pinging problem or something?

MattR 2003-09-17 09:38 AM

Well, it was fine down there until Sunday, I filled up at 76, then it started pinging like a motherf@cker, right at 4k RPM. Scott and Tyson were with me, sao they heard it. However, it seemed like the computer eventually adjusted to it, because I could not get it to duplicate the sound on the way home. I think maybe I had a shitty tank of gas or something, but who knows. And of course, Scott loves to poke fun at my misfortune

Ahh....You can always make fun of his click/clank CV problem.....

I await my next problem. I wonder what it will be.......

MattR 2003-09-17 10:43 AM

The rumor is, Scott will be renting a Focus from Hertz friday, so he'll have something to autocross in at Lovelock. hahahahaha!

ArthurS 2003-09-17 12:08 PM

A Focus??? LOL....Hey better then nothing.

STIwish 2003-09-17 12:17 PM

Focii can handle.. infact I actually think the SVT may be a better handler than the stock WRX.. but thats just me.

Hehe....

You = http://library.gmu.edu/training/webtut/wrong.gif

STIwish 2003-09-17 02:11 PM

Im serious, Ive driven both... the Focus handles like its on rails with little to no body roll.. I think it handles better personally.

MattR 2003-09-17 02:22 PM

Hahahahaah! That is all.

STIwish 2003-09-17 02:30 PM

Have you driven one Matt? or Art?

ArthurS 2003-09-17 02:31 PM

Yeeaaa, I have read articles about the SVT. First,(not only my opinion, but still a opinion)it doesn't have near the performance of a WRX suspension.

They are decent for the price, but so are SRT-4's. And still people proclaim how awsome subaru's are around the track and probably why there are so many being raced also.

I would like to hear more opinions on the subject, but I highly doubt the SVT Focus ranks anywhere near the WRX.

ArthurS 2003-09-17 02:33 PM

No I have not driven one on the track. Have you? I would like to know. Because how can you really tell unless you are at the track to feel the difference safely?

ArthurS 2003-09-17 02:41 PM

And just so I can show I am not talking out of my ass, here is a article from Forbes Magizine comparing these vehicles:

Nissan's SE-R Spec V,
Honda Civic Si,
Mazda MP3,
Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S
Acura RSX Type-S
Subaru WRX
Ford Focus SVT

Here is the good quote from the article:

MattR 2003-09-17 02:46 PM

Yeah, my x girlfriend had one, It was fun, but without any work done to them, they fall on their face. They're quick, but the suspension is just so-so...so no, I don;t think they are anywhere near as good as the WRX, but it all depends on what you're lookng for.

STIwish 2003-09-17 02:50 PM

They are simply outclassed as far as power goes, but with suspension and handling, they are very predictable and tight, and imo at least on par with the WRX.

STIwish 2003-09-17 02:51 PM

and no, I've never had one on the track, just parking lot screwing around.

Well like the article said, for a true enthusiast driver, they noticed that it did outperform the above mentioned cars, which isnt bad for only 18k, but it did not compare to the WRX which beat it in every aspect but price.

I would just say the old but true statement, 'you get what you pay for'. I would expect those things to not last that long.

sperry 2003-09-17 09:04 PM

I had an '86 Escort.

The Focus is just the new Escort.

Fuck that thing.

(That being said, they really aren't terrible cars.... they just need to bring the RS stateside. BTW: how pathetic is it that we need FORD of all people to bring the cool car stateside.... )
