Bionic Woman
Didn't suck IMHO. I was expecting the worst, but it could actually be decent, but I'm not holding my breath.
|
I discovered the pilot episode of bionic woman in my "on demand" section, so I watched it a couple of weeks ago. I was underwhelmed.
In other thread hijacking news, I watched the pilot of "reaper" last night, I thought that was alright. |

You couldn't pay me to watch that crap. IMO, "popular" TV is the worst it's ever been. I'll stick to Scrubs repeats and Ninja Warrior.

Don't lose total hope Scott, but for the most are you are right. Most all the new shows have a gimmick, there's no real writing/creativity involved. They just make up stuff to fit the gimmick, it's so lame. How about a real drama that doesn't involve time travel, bionic shit, ghosts, vampires, super geniuses. |
House = crack. I just can't seem to get enough of that F*ing show!

I think the theory of "to each his own" applies.
I personally don't care for "House" or "The Office". And I second Nick's comment. I liked Stargate, Firefly, Andromeda, Babylon 5 but couldn't live without Discovery and history Channel. |

My opinion of it? It seems like it'll be a matter of weeks before we start to see reruns on Lifetime... |
The office
Nip/Tuck House Ninja warror those are the only show that are going to be recorded on my D V R. possibly some dirty jobs as well... God bless you Mike Rowe. Cory should send a video into Dirty Jobs since he has to work with Bob. |
Wait, "House" is good?
I saw that episode where someone had a rare disease, but House was a dick to them instead of a proper doctor. The interns couldn't figure out what the disease was, and struggled to understand how House could be so flippant towards the poor patient. But House has an epiphany and figures out what's going on, but doesn't tell the interns until *after* he does some absurd treatment/procedure (so absurd he almost gets fired), but in the end everyone realizes that he in fact saved the patient's life. Oh, and there's some limping. Should I watch another episode? 'Cause I was under the impression that the show is just an advanced form of mad-libs... just insert a different patient/disease/absurd solution. Same goes for all the crime/forensics dramas... hell there's like 5 of those shows with the only difference being the city the show takes place in... The only formulaic shows I can stand are comedies, simply 'cause the formula there is "tell different jokes within the bounds of the characters/environment". Old Scrubs episodes, for example, are the same shit over and over, but at least the jokes are funny. Hell, Family Guy is the ultimate example of this... the formula/plot has next to nothing to do with the show, it's *only* jokes. As long as the jokes stay funny, the show is watchable. But I have a hard time understanding how people get into dramas with virtually identical plots every episode... it's like watching the same movie over and over again... you know exactly what's about to happen. |
Yeah, that's pretty much House, but I enjoy watching him be a HUGE asshole to everybody around him. He's kind of a role model for me...

I fuckin love firefly and BSG. Scott, yeah House is a formulaic hospital drama but you can't really totally write it off for that fact. I would imagine that's what an infectious ward of the hospital is like. The people either die or get curred because the doctor finds the answer. House has smart writing and interesting characters. |

BSG = BattleStar
Cody make sure you watch it in order otherwise we will lose out on major plot devices. I would netflix the series if I were you. |
