oh noes!

heres my problem every since the other day my car feels like it has no swaybars.
i dunno what it could be.

currently im running the strano front bar with the 29mm whiteline in the rear. i have the heavy duty endlinks in the rear and the strano bar doesnt use them. i have looked closely and i didnt snap the control arm tab. it seems alot of people had problems with over tightening the bolts there. i have no broken tabs or bolts on the front OR rear bar.

i honestly dont know where to go from here. is there something else i could check? i dunno why it would suddenly start this. without something being broken.

thanks again for helping.

help me please!

"D" Brackets still attached/tight? Bushings in them OK?

Tire pressure?

Use the front and rear center jack points or side jack stands so both sides are off the ground at the same time and then use another jack under one side or the other to see what is happening.

dayofpain 2007-11-09 04:19 PM

tire pressure is good. all brackets are tight and secure. all the bushings look to be ok. i was kinda wondering if it could some how be related to my front differential.

AtomicLabMonkey 2007-11-10 01:00 PM

If the car truly has more body roll from one day to the next, without you changing anything, then something has broken or is in the process of breaking. It could be a broken swaybar link, a mount fatiguing out, a bushing breaking apart, a damper blowing out, who knows, but something is definitely wrong. You might have to put the car up on stands and start systematically taking the suspension apart, inspecting, and putting it all back together to figure it out.

eff that ess right in the AA

id only do that if i had a lift. i have air tools but no lift.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-10 02:00 PM

don't be a puss. I changed a wheel bearing and my rear struts on jack stands in my driveway with no air tools. If your not willing to do that, then I guess its not bothering you enough yet.

dayofpain 2007-11-10 02:23 PM

lol i have done quite a bit of work in my own garage. including work on others peoples cars.

but this front sway bar is easily the hardest one because of how the endlinks work.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-10 02:28 PM

so your saying that you can't deadlift the front of your car while someone else gets under there and checks it out?

dayofpain 2007-11-10 02:29 PM

yeah, no ramps. i did the sway bar one side at a time then moved the jack back and forth. only because the car is too low to get my jack under the front.

dayofpain 2007-11-10 05:29 PM

so i posted a thread on nasioc with pictures included if you guys would check it out maybe youll see something i havent cause im baffled.

Protip: put some wood down then drive on top of that.

dayofpain 2007-11-10 09:30 PM

yeah tried that too. only had enough wood to raise it 1/2 an inch.

I can't decide whether to say "Are we still talking about cars?" or "That's what she said."

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-10 11:43 PM

^hahah well played.

dayofpain 2007-11-10 11:47 PM

of course you realize that it means i lifted a car 1/2 inch off the ground with my dick...

dayofpain 2007-11-12 03:34 PM

anyways... i fixed it. before dean came over yesterday i put more fluid in my tranny cause its leaking still.

the whole time we were out logging i didnt even feel it but i forgot about it till i got home and saw the fluid sitting out. i was like, oh yeah, my cars all brokie. i flogged her early this morning and everything is back to normal.

go figure eh?

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-12 04:47 PM

I don't understand.

dayofpain 2007-11-12 04:51 PM

more fluid in transmission = problem solved.

i dont get it either.

wrxkidid 2007-11-12 07:07 PM

So by filling your tranny you eliminate body roll??

sybir 2007-11-12 08:11 PM

dayofpain 2007-11-12 11:37 PM

lol yeah i dunno. but its not doing it now, and all i have done is put more fluid in the tranny.

wrxkidid 2007-11-12 11:45 PM

It was probably more a mental thing than anything. You knew you were missing something you just didn't know what.

WRX06TR 2007-11-12 11:50 PM

You + Dean = balance...you didn't so much correct the problem as much as learn that whatever the problem is, it's on the passenger side

dayofpain 2007-11-13 12:03 AM

yeah but that would mean that the problem would come back. after he gets out. and the problem hasnt returned.
