Wanted: 98-01 2.5 rs

Yea no jokes. My parents shot down the truck because of gas prices and what they think they will reach. I was thinking about another wrx but I decided that I would rather buy an old RS and learn some more with that and maybe swap it down the road...

Anyone seen one around? Let me know.

MPREZIV 2007-11-18 07:41 PM

Go to RS25.com, join, and check out the classifieds sections. There's almost ALWAYS a few for sale, and often in neighboring states that wouldn't be a huge pain to go pick up.

my best suggestion.

I was looking over there, and the only one they had wiring issues and wasn't running.

There was a 4 door as well but i would prefer a 2 door.

mm factory leather, i might swap the seat out though so I dunno if it is worth paying the premium. The guy seems pretty solid at his price.

Cheap, cheap, cheap, etc...

This car needs to last through college, and then some.

Kevin M 2007-11-19 03:59 PM

The guy asking $13,500 is crazy, but the one for $11,500 makes me happy in my peepee area.

MPREZIV 2007-11-19 05:25 PM

The 11k one is clean.

GC8.Love 2007-11-20 12:51 PM

Well, I'm kinda tired of stuff happening to mine. Not sure how serious I am about selling it, though. I'd like to get the Brighton running well enough for me to be happy with it, and then possible sell the RS.

It's a sedan though.

???

Its an L though, so that means rear drum brakes right? How hard is that to swap to disks?

Are all the Ls 2.2 or are some 1.8?

Kevin M 2007-11-21 04:48 PM

His price is kinda high. Maybe $6k would be okay. The drums aren't a big deal, but if you absolutely can't stand them, getting discs swapped in is not hard. It would take you like 2 hours if you had all the necessary parts.

That one is a 2.2, the 1.8 ended in 1996 I think.

But learning to race with drum brakes will make you a better driver... 'cause... um... well...

...drum brakes suck. :(

Oh... is that why I keep kicking Nick and Cory's asses in their rear-disc equipped cars?

(Damn it's going to be fun milking that until April! )

I know I was gone for much of the season, so maybe I missed what you're talking about... but Nick beat you by 30 places in the PAX standings, and Cory's running a DSP car in SM and placed only 7 spots behind you.

Where's this "keep kicking asses" your talking about? :P

wrxkidid 2007-11-21 11:50 PM

Hey! Take it to the silly season thred.

wrxkidid 2007-11-21 11:51 PM

If I were to run in a RS/L what class would I be in. The most I would do would probably be coilovers maybe. STX?

I was referring to what happens when I drive their cars. Twice I was top Street Tire car in Nick's Legacy and I beat Cory in his car twice.
