WRX in Fatality Wreck yesterday

Looks like a Blue WRX on Black wheels racing a Honda=Kablamo! Passenger in the WRX Killed. RGJ Article here. What a shame, I wonder who ran the light? Either way, this stuff happens too easily.

Looks just like the one Phil saw in the spotted thread that day..Weird. As pointed out by DZ

sperry 2007-11-25 01:11 PM

Damn... :(

Looks like a drunk driver in the pickup ran a light and put himself in front of a drag race? I don't know who was the bigger idiot in that one.

It does go to show that those folks that always claim "we race in deserted/safe places" really can't predict what might cross your path.

MPREZIV 2007-11-25 01:14 PM

It's the *constant* stories like these that make me not want to drive on the street at all any more...

GST Mike 2007-11-25 02:42 PM

I can't believe the Subaru driver only got a broken wrist. That car looks twisted!

Condolances to family and friends of the passenger.

Mike

MattR 2007-11-25 05:09 PM

According to the street racing website, they were not actually "racing" at teh time of the impact, but were driving very fast. Whatever. Driver's name was Jason, Passenger was John??? Not sure if anyone knows those guys, but damn.

Bajozzy 2007-11-25 06:10 PM

Its posted over on NASIOC that the driver is in a coma. Maybe BS but damn, I feel for the family of the passenger.

ScottyS 2007-11-25 09:48 PM

Dibs on the seat!

wait, is that out of line?

;-)

Evo Mike 2007-11-26 12:11 AM

how do they know it's racing? they didn't catch the honda

wrxkidid 2007-11-26 12:18 AM

I think that there was a witness who said they were racing and the Honda hung around after his buddy wrecked until the cops showed up, dunno why they towed his car though...

That is what I understood atleast.

Libila 2007-11-26 12:30 AM

That color/wheel combo looks really familiar, but I can't think of where I know it from.

Wait, what car?

The Honda?

Because he was racing!

Everywhere.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-26 10:48 AM

People were probably following them from the previous light and saw them take off. When they finally caught up they probably saw the 2 cars and the accident and said "hey those mofos were just racing".

Then when the cop gets there and says "omg wtf happened here?" then the other witnesses say "these mofos were racing...". Then the cop says to the honda owner "your car is a piece of shit, and you were racing with it, now it belong to us".

*IMPOUNDED*

Now I understand.

Where's the NASIOC thread?

dayofpain 2007-11-26 02:11 PM

holy shit, that is the car i saw.......

NevadaSTi 2007-11-26 03:29 PM

I've seen that car around Sparks too. Hate to say it, but my impression of the driver has been less than favorable, and that is based off of seeing his driving 'technique.'

SteveM 2007-11-27 07:11 AM

http://news.rgj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...m/breakingnews

But he wasn't drag racing!

My favorite line from the story:
Quote:

He was driving home in his race car, a 2005 Subaru, with Query in the passenger’s seat. Palsgaard was driving behind them in his black 1991 Honda, also a race car.

JonnydaJibba 2007-11-27 08:16 AM

Wow, that SUCKS.

NevadaSTi 2007-11-27 08:38 AM

That totally sucks for all the families involved in this. My heart goes out to them.

I also just loved the way RGJ just stereotyped Subarus and Hondas as 'race cars.' In my humble opinion, I only know of one Subaru Race car. But it is apparently still in a ton of peices on Sperry's garage floor.

khail19 2007-11-27 09:42 AM

Cool, that means I have a race car too!

JonnydaJibba 2007-11-27 10:37 AM
