TaxACT.com Great Free Tax prep & e-file

http://www.taxact.com/

I've used their downloadable stuff in the past, and am using the on-line this year.

You get pestered to upgrade to the pay version a few times, but it is not painful.

Free Federal for all but very complicated tax situation.

Free E-File.

CA residents have to cough up for state return. :P

Seņor Cheap Bastard approved.

Does this tax software ask "Between 1/1/07 and 7/14/07 did you have a conjoined twin cut from your body, thus creating a new social security account? yes/no"

I didn't think you had to file taxes if you've got no income? :P

Do you know what the sports book line on an old man beating a bunch of young thugs at autocross is? My walker is covered in cubic zerconias BIOTCH.

Yeah, but Randy says you can't beat the spread against the "real" racers.

I used Tax Act last year and will be this year when I file. It's free, and I like free.

I thought Walmart does their employee's taxes for them?

sperry 2008-02-05 05:18 PM

On an unrelated note, how is this a review of a vendor or part? Do I get a free BOV for filing with them?

Tax software is about as off topic as it gets!

Dean 2008-02-05 05:55 PM

OK, I can see that logic. I was thinking it was a vendor and a review that might interest many for a longer period of time. Whatever.

Yeah well Wal-Mart doesn't sell the sized clothing that your mom needs. :p

Filed today. My return is pretty easy though- nothing except education expenses beyond the standard deduction. Lifetime Learning Credit limit has been raised to $4000, that's handy.
