Track tour this Sat?
 

I just see it in the new design SCCA page. Is this happening? What is the schedule?

If you are interested in the SCCA stuff, I'd recommend signing up for the e-mail group. This was sent out recently about the Track Tour.

Reno Region SCCA members and friends,

We had so much fun on our Track Tour at Reno-Fernley Raceway on February 16th, WE'RE GOING TO DO IT AGAIN! This coming Saturday, March 1st, you'll get another chance to experience lapping several of the exciting road course configurations at R-FR. It's a FREE opportunity and non-members are welcome, so be sure to tell your friends, neighbors and co-workers.

As on our previous free Track Tours, speeds will be limited behind a pace car. No helmets are required. All you need is a driver's license or learner's permit, and a streetable car, truck or SUV -- no motorcycles, sorry. Passengers are welcome and encouraged. Minors can participate, but they must have a properly-executed Minor Waiver on file -- we'll bring the forms, but they can only be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

As always, our Track Tours are dependent on the weather. If the forecast is bad, we'll postpone or cancel. Watch for another e-mail as Saturday gets closer.

Weather permitting, we'll be gathering at Reno-Fernley Raceway's road course at 11:30 a.m. to sign both the SCCA and the track's waiver forms. We should be lapping for about an hour.

We had a great turnout at our Feb. 16th Track Tour, and another really great turnout for our Track Volunteer Training session Feb. 23rd. It looks like 2008 will be a fast and fun year for Reno Region, so come on out March 1st. Shake off the winter cobwebs, show your friends and family what it's all about, and spend some quality time with your fellow enthusiasts. It's fun and it's free.

Do they have a food truck? I love their fried.

I think the track tours are pretty low-key, and only about an hour or two long, so I doubt there will be food out there. But I've never been, so I'm just guessing.

Again, these are questions best asked over at the new Reno SCCA Forums, you should go sign up over there! As much as we like website traffic here at SECCS, it would be a great boost to the new SCCA site if we make an effort to utilize their new forums for this sort of stuff 'cause it will help to get the SCCA folks that aren't part of SECCS more involved in the online community.
