Need GC8 RS parts....

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, but I'm looking for some parts from a 99-01 2.5RS Impreza, to convert my Impreza L into something a little better looking. I need...

RS front bumper (ver.5 or 6)
RS side skirts
stock RS springs (front and rear)

also eventually want to pick up a used 2.5 engine or possibly a WRX EJ20. I know the Suby junkyard in Rancho Cordova has them, but I'm trying to not have to drive over the hill to get them (just yet). Anyway, thanks for reading...

Springs won't be too hard to find on i-club, RS25 or nasioc. For the bumper, just go to the stealership. You can get good prices on them online, but shipping kicks your ass. Same for sideskirts.

Got a set of stock springs lying around somewhere... no struts tho. I'll get the springs to ya cheap if you want them!

They've only got about 12k miles on them, before they were yanked off the car. $50?

Kevin M 2008-03-15 05:45 PM

Also, don't forget that you need an RS bumper beam to do the conversion.

Highdesertsuby 2008-03-16 07:07 PM

RS springs

$50 sounds fine to me. I already have KYB struts on the car, but i have the lousy "L" model springs, front ones even look like they came off an Outback Sport wagon...car sits 2 in higher in the front than in the back. What's the best way to contact you directly?
I don't think I'll be able to afford to buy a bumper from the dealership right now, so I'll just keep my ears open for someone who might have one...thanks

MPREZIV 2008-03-17 06:55 AM

Just PM me here. Or post in this thread. I'll have to go pick them up, 'cause they're at my folks' house in the basement.

Highdesertsuby 2008-03-18 07:52 AM

Cory, what times are you usually at work? If it is easier for you, I can just pick up the springs there once you get them collected...

MPREZIV 2008-03-18 11:27 AM

7:00 till 4:30, M-F

I'll let you know when I get them!

Highdesertsuby 2008-03-18 11:30 AM

ok, sounds good. Whenever you are ready I can just drop by in the morning...

GC8.Love 2008-03-18 08:05 PM

Do you need/want seats in the meantime? I'm trying to get rid of some miscellaneous stuff, and I still have my RS's seats.

Looking for anything else?

I'm finding assorted bits all over. O.o

Highdesertsuby 2008-03-19 07:49 AM

Possibly...what color are they and how much would you want for them?

Kevin M 2008-03-19 08:41 AM

RS seats? Me me me! What else you got Hill?

GC8.Love 2008-03-19 08:56 AM

The RS seats are the black and dark grey checkered. No major staining that I'm aware of, but I'll check. I think I've taken the seatbelt bits off of the fronts, along with a few of the bolts for the rails.

Both of those parts can be used off of your cars' stock stuff for them. Not sure if you want rails or not, but they're on there/around.

The rear seat has a small puncture/tear to the leather that faces the front seats, but it's not all that obvious unless you're doing something in the footwells back there. :?:

Other stuff;

I'll have to expand on this because I *really* can't recall what I've got until I move more...

1x set of front fenders, new, primed black

1x set of hood vents for an RS hood, in BRP

1x set of L (pre-97) headlights

?x sets of amber/stock turn signals and repeaters

2x OEM spare tires - Def. freebies if anyone wants em

2x OEM scissor jacks - also freebies - I hate these things

1x L/OBS front bumper skin in pretty good shape, stock graphite color

1x any GM/GC/GF rear bumper skin in Aspen

2 more and you have the perfect low traction "school" tires or learn to be smooth autocross tires. :lol

Kevin M 2008-03-19 09:43 AM

I'll definitely take the seats. How much do you want for the fenders and rear bumper skin?

I've got a WRX spare tire I can donate to the cause!

GC8.Love 2008-03-21 12:26 PM

Okay, so seats and fenders are pending.

Highdesertsuby 2008-03-21 03:17 PM

 Looks like this thread went somewhere I hadn't intended it to go, but oh well, what can you do? Anyway, here is a list of what I still need. Even if this sits around for months, at least it will still be in archives...and if anyone in the club hears about any of this stuff, I'd appreciate it if you let me know ok? Thanks...

all parts for GC Impreza...

RS v.5/6 front bumper assy.
RS side skirts
21-22(?)mm front sway bar
fog/driving lights to fit L/OBS bumper
any rear axles in decent shape
RS non-ABS brake proportioning valve
JDM red/clear tail lights (long shot on this one, I know)
complete WRX engine w/ecu and wiring (eventually)

I'm also trying to get rid of a 1990 Acura Integra GS-R (swapped), which will allow me to buy some of these other items (especially the engine). So if you know anyone into Honda's (no laughing please), PM me with email and I can send pics (it's also listed on Craigslist).

Kevin M 2008-03-21 03:25 PM

No such thing as an "RS non-ABS" proportioning valve.

The erst of that sutff is pretty easy to find though.

Highdesertsuby 2008-04-08 01:40 PM

Just checkin in again...anyone have a spare 20+mm front sway bar for GC body? Also looking for better than stock rear sway bar endlinks...thanks

sperry 2008-04-08 01:57 PM

I've got a stock WRX front swaybar (don't think those fit on a GC?), and some Kartboy rear endlinks (for an '02 WRX which I think will work on a GC).

Kevin M 2008-04-08 02:09 PM

Stock WRX bar will work if you have a non-stock header, usually. That Whiteline bar I got from you conflicts with stock cast headers, but will probably fit when I put the Borla on after I smog.

The Kartboy rear links are the same for non-STi Imprezas up to '06 or something like that.
