ZOMG - gas prices in Bridgeport

Gas in Bridgeport, CA this past weekend...

Looks cheap to me.

Diesel was $4.499/gal in CA last weekend... but I found a Valero in San Ramon that was only $4.299. Nothing like spending $160 to fill up the truck! And I get to do it again next weekend 'cause my car has a boost issue that Mike couldn't sort out, so I had to leave the car with him for the week. :(

knucklesplitter 2008-04-14 10:51 AM

Diesel is either $4.80 or $4.90 in Bridgeport I think.

What kinda boost issue - too much or not enough?

ScottyS 2008-04-14 08:00 PM

Yeah, the same dude owns BOTH fuel stations in B-port. Boycotted by more than a few locals. Fillups at G-ville and Bishop only for me on the 395 south....

I never thought I'd be so grateful for the $3.30/gal gas I have locally.

Scott, you need to find some local greasy spoon that needs their fry oil disposed of and convert that behemoth to run on veggie oil.

 The Ford is my only reliable vehicle. I'm not gonna monkey around with the fuel delivery system to save money on fuel when I drive the truck all of 3000 miles a year.

I think the problem is too much out of an unknown area and not enough into the cylinders.

The answer to that question, and the ensuing conversation was moved to the motor build thread.

Try to keep up. :P

Do what now?

Libila 2008-04-15 12:59 PM

Geezus, I thought gas was expensive here! 93 is 3.71 a gallon today.

JonnydaJibba 2008-04-15 03:03 PM

$113 a barrel not bad!

What is it about California?

Looks like it's got to do with taxes. CA is universally high, while New Jersey is nearly all green while surrounded by orange and yellow states. The base price for gas is probably pretty consistent nation-wide, but per-state and per-county taxes make the big differences.

California also has more stringent formulation requirements and various restrictions on refineries.

RBOB is RBOB nationwide... Only the additives are different.

knucklesplitter 2008-04-27 06:13 PM

Diesel was $5.20/gal today in Bridgeport.

Jeikun 2008-04-27 06:19 PM

seems like its all pretty much 3.80 in the south reno area... I just fill up on Chevron now since its all of 3 cents more than walmart or 7-11 gas... >.>

cody 2008-04-27 07:00 PM

Spend $50 at Safeway and you get $0.20/gal at your next fill up at one of their two gas stations in town. Safeway card FTW.

van 2008-04-27 07:03 PM

just got back from a looong trip to CA, most of the time 87 was in the high $3.90 range although I saw a lot of pumps with nothing less than $4.

left footed whooten 2008-04-28 06:26 AM

Passed through death Valley a month ago, 5.59 a gallon! I bet Lee Vining is right up there near $5 too.

MikeK 2008-04-28 09:01 AM

Everytime I see some redneck winnAr in a jacked up monster truck now I laugh. I hope it hits $8 a gallon.

In Lee Vining it was $4.80 I think. They were building a new gas station there too, so maybe the competition will help lower prices there.

At least the Mobil station has slammin food.

Tioga Toomey's Whoa Nellie Deli - possibly the best gas station food in the world. I had the lobster taquitos on Sunday afternoon.
