Anyone know where to rent a dump trailer?

I've got to empty out Lisa's parent's storage unit this weekend, and I'd like to rent a dump trailer so I can just toss most of their crap out in one trip to the landfill.

Anyone know where to get a dump trailer? U-Haul doesn't rent them... they best they've got is a 6'x12' open trailer which has some pathetic low sides on it. I might as well just build some 2x4 sides for my car trailer and use that if I can't find something that will dump.

Also, where's the landfill around here? Out I-80 toward near Mustang? Is there a dump in-town? What's it cost for dumping a trailer-full of crap?

There is a city dump over by RGJ. I cant remember what the charges are anymore but its pretty expensive.

I thought the big dump was near Lockwood?

Well the bigger problem is finding a trailer... Anyone have suggestions for equipment rental places?

Last time I remember being over at MikeSTI's house he said he rented his from Waste Management.

I met a guy (friend of a friend) that I'm pretty sure rents dump trailers. He's in Sparks. I'll try and find his card when I get home.

Scott, the trailer place across the street from Nevada Off Road on Rock Blvd North of Glendale rent dump trailers. I think it;s called P & J Trailers or something (NOT PJ trailers).

go to the lockwood dump, its half as expensive as the other ones.

100_Percent_Juice 2008-05-01 11:28 PM

Yeah its less expensive but I do believe that its now further out than lockwood so it might work out to be the same price after figuring in the price of gas, pulling a full trailer. I can't believe its been this long since I have had to dump something.

Transfer station downtown is on Commercial Way right behind Sid's. It was $20 for all biodegradable brush/cardboard in my mostly full F150 bed 8 months ago.

Lockwood should be less. Signs on freeway tell you which exit. There are also countless directions on burning man web sites. :)

If you have old appliances, Sierra pacific will pay $30 and pickup old refrigerators, and others can be recycled at the scrap metal yard in Sparks for cash as well. They take broken cars as well. :)

Can't find his card. But I think it is the P&J trailers that Matt is talking about.

Too bad you couldn't have done it last weekend, Waste Mgmt had a voucher for the month of April for free dumping at the Lockwood dump. (I looked at my coupon on May 1, blah.)

So, is there a dumping ground for old (PC) monitors? Or are they supposed to be recycled?

Old computer stuff can go to http://computercorps.org/

They are Carson based but take small quantities out of one of the clearwire office in Reno.
