EMERGENCY: TURBO NEEDED ASAP

I was replacing a TGV sensor and accidentially dropped a screw down my up-pipe. Bye bye turbo. I am supposed to go back to Wisconsin on Monday and currently my car sits on the rack in robby's garage. I need to find a turbo within the next 24 hours. If you have one or know someone please have them call me. -nick 636-2585

I have a VF39 with the standard crack in the WG housing. Scott might have his WRX stocker around. Nick in Tahoe may still have a VF39 in unknown condition.

I have a TD04 that works just fine but it burns a little oil when using 5w30.

The problem with the TD04 is then we would need to find a set of stock injectors and then get an accessport cable since his is broken and reflash the car doable but lots more parts to source.

I've got a td04 and the cable for an AP. If you can find some injectors you're all set and with better mileage on the trip to boot. I can bring stuff to the meet tomorrow if necessary. Just let me know.

how hard are injectors to do? I have never messed with the fuel system besides the fuel filter.

You do not need to change injectors when downgrading a turbo to a smaller one. You don't even need to change the tune if you stay out of high boost.

AH, I thought your 39 was FUBAR. I knew it was cracked, but I thought worse than normal, as I told Robby on the phone last night... my bad!

And if you're wondering Rob, injectors are easy.

I did injectors by myself and it probably took 3.5 hours, mainly because the brackets were a mother to get in and out. So Cory could probably do it in about 30 minutes.

Though I would love to unload my VF39 for cheap, Nick's in Truckee is probably in better condition (only 10% of the miles mine has) and very reasonably priced if it is still around.
