It's dream garage time again!
Here's the rules this time, I'm trying to make it difficult:
5 cars: winter beater, daily driver, fun car for the street, fun car for the track, and a collector car. 5 countries: no two cars can be from the same country of origin. 5 decades: no two cars can be from the same decade. Cars must be production based cars, money is no object, bonus coolness for low volume or special edition cars. I'll start: winter beater: 1979 Jeep Wagoneer (USA) daily driver: 2009 Subaru STi Spec-C (Japan) http://www.nihoncar.com/news_pics/787/news.jpg street: 1999 Aston Martin Vantage 600 (UK) http://www.carforums.net/reviews/mak...onmartin11.jpg track: 1989 BMW E39 M3 (Germany) http://www.worldofstock.com/slides/TRC1563.jpg collector: 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO (Italy) http://www.startlinescalemodels.co.u...ck%20Mason.jpg |
You're missing a picture. Can 2 people share the same car?

2 people can pick the same car, if you're cool with being unoriginal! :P |
Winter Beater:
1982 Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser (Nippon) http://www.neurosybir.net/nkoan/imag...thing/fj60.jpg Daily Driver: 2008 BMW 123d (Deutschland) http://www.neurosybir.net/nkoan/imag...g/bmw-123d.jpg Fun Street Car: 1964 Aston Martin DB6 Volante (The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) http://www.neurosybir.net/nkoan/imag...amdb6vol67.jpg Fun Track Car: 1999 Corvette C5 (USA! USA! USA!) http://www.neurosybir.net/nkoan/imag...g/corvette.jpg Collector Car: 1977 Lancia Stratos (Italia) http://www.neurosybir.net/nkoan/imag...ng/stratos.jpg |
Nice Nick. I really wanted to pick the Land Cruiser as well, but didn't want to waste my Japan pick on a truck... so I tried to pick the US equivalent from the 70's.
|
The country rule made it hard! I know I could have done better in the daily driver, have to think about it. I had a few choices but I like the GT. I didn't want a Skyline for the track even one from the 90's.
winter beater 1988 Volvo 480 Turbo (sweden) the year made it tough here. I guess I could have found something from italy, but meh. http://www.carfolio.com/images/dbima...d/1306/480.jpg daily driver 2006 Bentley Continental GT (england) I just like them, I know it's a rapper video car. http://www.autocult.com.au/img/galle...eOmata2447.jpg fun car for the street 1963 Chevy Nova (usa) Sentimental pick for my Dad so we can cruise around. My dad and his brothers pooled their money to get a used one, back in the day! http://automotivehistoryonline.com/1...let%20Nova.jpg fun car for the track 1999 Acura NSX (jdm yo!) http://www.autocarparts.com/images/p.../acura_nsx.jpg collector car 1954 Porsche Spyder 550 (in red thank you) (grrmany) kinda tough choice because I wanted a GT3 for the track....also I'd probably pick the 959 if the 2 were in front of me. http://www.ssip.net/upload/porsche-5...ront-1_166.jpg |
Alright....
Winter Beater: 1977 Chevy Blazer (USA) http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...990-body-2.jpg Daily Driver: 2006 Audi RS4 (Germany) http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...uy/AudiRS4.jpg Fun Street Car: 1998 Nissan Silvia S15 (Japan) With an RB26DETT swap of course... http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q.../SilviaS15.jpg Fun Track Car: 1989 Ferrari F40 LM (Italy) http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...FerrariF40.jpg Collector Car: 1969 Lotus 7 (UK) http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...Guy/Lotus7.jpg |
Winter beater: 86 Landcruiser (Japan). Took what Land Rover did and made it even better.
http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...063%5b1%5d.jpg Daily driver: 1990 Bentley Turbo R 4x4 Estate Car (England) - custom built for the Sultan of Brunei. 4wd in first and reverse only. http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...awd%5b1%5d.jpg Fun car for the street: 2006 Koenigsegg CCR (Sweden) for a "fun" car: http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...llpaper_08.jpg Fun car for the track: '78 Porsche 935 longtail (Germany) - aka Moby Dick. Doesn't need words. http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...ick%5b1%5d.jpg Collector car: '35 Duesenburg SJ (America, fuck yeah) - aka the Mormon Meteor land-speed car. Just look at it. Also proves that American manufacturing peaked in the early 20th century :p http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...er1%5b1%5d.jpg |

Winter Beater: Toyota Hilux, slightly modified for arctic exploration. (Japan)
http://www.redlineblog.com/autos/wp-...-front-f3q.jpg Daily Driver: 1977 Alpine A310 (France) http://alpinerenault.free.fr/galerie...vigeant008.jpg Street: 1993 Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione II (Italy) http://dhost.info/thesupercars/super...eltahfie21.jpg Track: 1955 Jaguar D-Type (UK) http://www.autocult.com.au/img/gallery/hologram167.jpg Collector: 1932 Nash 1082R Ambassador Rumble Seat Coupe S (USA) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...at_Coupe_S.JPG |
I saw one of these in Mendocino back in July. It was red and very cool. I was trying to figure out if the dents were accidental or part of the design, so I checked the other side out too.
I love watching enjoy one post up in this game! |
There are some great cars in here. I hope my choices hold up.
Winter Beater: '72 Ford Bronco, US http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ba/bronco1.jpg Daily Driver: '08 Audi RS6 Avant, GER http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1..._RS6Avant1.jpg Fun Street Car: '58 Aston Martin DB4, UK http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...artin_DB41.jpg Track Car: '94 Ferrari 355 Challenge, ITL http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1..._challenge.jpg Collector Car: '35 Peugeot 402 FRA http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...02_grey_vl.jpg |
Nice choices Johnny... I like where your head's at on the collector car, but Alfa Romeo's are Itallian! :P How about a sweet old Bugatti, they're French.
'36 Bugatti Type 57: http://www.city-data.com/forum/attac...7-atlantic.jpg |
Oh shit! Ok, gotta revise. That was my hardest one to figure out. I guess at this point it still is.
|
A couple people are cheating and only coming up with 4 of the 5. I can do that, but am having a tough time with getting 5 that I really like to work. The toughest one is to find a winter beater from the 70s not from The US,UK,Ger that I actually like or would even really work as a winter beater. :(

I also had the hardest time with the winter beater. All the cars I came up with that I'd really want were already excluded due to the country. In fact, I changed my track car 3 times because I needed to free up a country for the winter beater, and still ended up having to pick a '70's American car, which frankly is the worst decade for US car design. |
You are right, I thought Sybir and Bob only had 4 of 5 just by counting pictures earlier.
Oh, I could pick a 80s or 90s winter beater easily, but it would mess up the rest of my list. I'm working on it though. |
Dude, I even had alternates listed, how did you get 4?
If I stick with the Landcruiser in my first set, I could do another 5 without duplicating countries ;) Winter: 80's-era (you figure out an exact year on a russian military vehicle) UAZ "jeep" outfitted for tundra duty: http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...ie2%5b1%5d.jpg Daily: 1962 Citroen DS wagon (France) http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...396%5b1%5d.jpg Fun: 2006 Ascari A10 (Netherlands) http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...0fe%5b1%5d.jpg Track: 1995 Holden Commodore V8 touring car (Australia) http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...5VR%5b1%5d.jpg Collector: 1972 Lamborghini Miura 400 SV (Italy) http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/cars/...-lg%5b1%5d.jpg I could do a Jota, but they're a little more........vulgar. |
