Cracking Down on Window Tint

Don't know if anyone saw on the news today.

More officers have tint meters now and are enforcing the legal tint limit.

I'm guessing they just want to test and see if the meters they received work.

Just a heads up for people with darker then normal tint.

;)

Guess the city needs more money because they are at it again.

What is the legal limit here? I don't have tint yet but I want to get it very soon.

I drove by 7 police today of every variety and never got a second glance. Car has 20% IIRC. You can definitely tell its not 35.

My buddy got pulled over and ticketed for 5%. That's the only thing he got pulled over for. Meanwhile, there have been a bunch of break ins in cars around UNR. I wish they would just admit that they need money instead of trying to pretend it's truly for everyone's safety.

Also, I thought that only 70% was legal, and my 35% wasn't. Good to hear that I've been rolling legal (tint-wise, anyway ;)). I never got hassled for my tint, but I have been pulled over 3 times for having too dark of a license plate cover. One time, 2 additional officers showed up just to watch me take the cover off... if the city/county/state needs more money, I think they need to cut some hours of the police, cuz they always seem so bored. Way too often I see 4, 5, even 6 cop cars for something simple like a traffic stop or a single car accident.

I feel sooooo much safer now that our LEO's can protect me from all the criminals with illegal tint. Bad boys, watcha gonna do when they come for you?

Haha. I would love if that was the biggest problem in Reno, but it's not. DUIs are a huge problem here, as is meth, and all the break ins at UNR. Those are what piss me off the most, because they are the easiest to stop. UNR has it's own police with their own jurisdiction. All they have to do is patrol the area and the break ins will stop. But instead, they're always hiding trying to pull people over.
