AVI to MP4 Converter?

Can anyone recommend a good, free program to convert avi files to mp4s?

I am not at home but I think the one I always use is called Jodix ipod video converter. It gets the job done.

Click on the file. Press F2. Type "nameofthevideo.mp4". Press enter.

Then follow Juice's suggestion or wait for Dean to chime in if you want it to actually work.

There are a bunch out there, but i don't use them. Try a google search for: freeware AVI MP4 converter

That should net you a bunch to choose from.
