Reputable Subaru shop in/around San Diego???

Guy I was with at Miller last weekend we believe spun a rod bearing in his STI and is looking for a shop to do the R&R and/or machine work. (Note to self, do not run "syntech" 0-30 at the track, not that I ever would.)

I realize it is a long shot and suggested he look on IWSTI or NASIOC, but figured I would ask here as well.

I'd personally look in the SWIC forums on NASIOC. There's a lot of San Diegans (?) on that board...

Please do! I'm running it now.

Just go Redline Cody...

Harman Motive is 2 hours from San Diego.

Yes, he was using the German Castrol 0-30, but it was not his car for the first 60,000 miles.

Thanks. Do you actually have experience with either of these shops?

No, never tried GC.

cody 2009-06-15 08:37 AM

My car is consuming a little less oil with the GC than it did with the Royal Purple. Probably because the Royal Purple supposedly shears to a 20 weight. I don't have an oil consumption issue though. I have to add a quart every 3-5K miles depending on how hard I drive.
