Server Migration Downtime

Looks like our hosting company is doing some server migration work, and our server will be transferred to a new location.

Your server will be moved on September 27, 2009
================================================== =============

As we recently informed you, your server will be moved from its
current location in a Data Center in New Jersey to our new,
state-of-art Data Center in Lenexa, Kansas.

To ensure that your server benefits from the newest technology
and infrastructure, we have built a new Data Center in Lenexa,
Kansas. Our new Data Center is a state-of-the-art green facility
that brings you power, connectivity and security unsurpassed in
the industry.

During the move, your server will experience an offline time
of a few minutes up to 4 hours. To reduce the amount of noticable
downtime, our technicians will move your server in the early hours
of the morning. The moves will begin at 11 pm EST on September 27, 2009
and will be finished by 8 am EST the following morning.

Although our technicians will handle your server move with the
utmost care and our migration tools have been tested and proven
to work, as a precautionary measure, we strongly recommend that
you back up your data and server settings at least 3 days prior
to the move.
I will be running a backup of the server sometime between now and Saturday as my time and access to the server permits.

Well, they started the migrations earlier this week, so by the time they get to ours, I'm expecting they'll have the process streamlined.

Plus, our server is on a virtual host, so really all they have to do is hibernate the host, copy it all over, and wake it up. The server shouldn't even actually have to reboot during migration.
