well, probably a little bit of money. since youll need to split the case to have it honed/bored, depending on what the machine shop says. then new pistons and bearings..

...then about $8000 in parts to convert a 2.5i to an STi.

Wow, that much? I guess it would be cheaper to swap it into an already FI Subaru.

Real rough guess... but since he'd need to replace everything starting with the intake, and ending with the muffler, including the wiring and ECU... it ain't cheap.

08awsti 2009-10-23 12:02 PM

Very true. If it was going into a wrx it would be a lot easier

Right, thats why my comment on why it would be cheaper on an FI Subaru vs the 2.5i/2.5rs for the GC crowd.

You're smoking crack. Subaru's N/A cars are terrific cars for the cost. They're reliable, practical, relatively fun to drive, and very capable. They're just not sports cars. Don't hate on the car because you've got the need for speed. Pay it off ASAP, use it as a daily driver, and go pick up an impractical used Miata or S2000 or something for the track.
