Boost Control Solenoid on 08 same as 02-07?
 

My friend down in SoCal just picked up an 08 wrx and he is having a problem with it. Under boost it makes a constant whistling sound coming from the engine compartment. He checked all the hoses and tightened/replaced all the zip ties. Then he sent me a picture of what appears to be a cheap aftermarket Manual BCS. I think it would be best if he replaced it with a stock BCS so I was wondering if anyone knew if Subaru kept the same BCS with the newer model cars.

Pretty sure it's the same on the WRX as earlier years. Subaru #16102AA380. Not 100% positive though.

BTW have him check to see if the BCS is still on the car. It is attached to the intake manifold - #27 in this illustration:
