Austin! What are you doing the weekend after X-Mas?

I'm going to be in the area, and I'm going to have a trunk full of coilovers!

Feel like pulling an install day at your house for me? :) Installing the coilovers should only take an hour or two, but I'd also like to check out your home alignment system, and learn how to eventually set up to do it in my garage.

I'm down, but maybe in Reno instead of Livermore. Laura and I are going up to Sac to Kate & Scott's place for Christmas the 24th/25th, and then we were thinking about some skiing and maybe seeing her family in Carson over that weekend. So, I could just bring my tools in the Jeep and we could do the install at your place!

Well then! I guess that means I need to survey my garage floor... wanna write up a list of stuff I'll need to buy, or should I just go and re-read your thread? ;)

AtomicLabMonkey 2003-12-10 03:16 PM

I think re-reading my thread will be sufficient... after all, I wrote it - so it must be perfect.

 I'll just bring all my stuff along. Camber gauge, tape measure, plumb bob, a bunch of string, laser level, wood blocks, shim pads...

Schweet. We should caravan over the pass Saturday morning, I could meet you at Scott & Kates or something. (Unless you're planing on going over 50 to Carson... then I'll just drive 80 to Reno myself :P)

That sounds like a good tentative plan, I'll have to check the details with everyone...

AtomicLabMonkey 2003-12-10 07:28 PM

Ok after talking to Laura we're thinking (still tentative, have to talk to family) we'll ski & see her family on that Friday and maybe just stay in Carson that night... then we'd just come up to Reno to your place on Saturday and we could do the damn thing. (that smilie was just for Laura, she's sitting here watching me type over my shoulder)

OILCOVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweet

AtomicLabMonkey 2003-12-22 07:39 AM

So what's the deal with the coilovers right now... are you still getting parts sent back/replaced, or are we gonna do some installing after X-mas?

Well, I have the fronts sitting in my living room... the rears are getting swapped out by JIC. I have no ETA on when they'll be showing up. :( Hopefully the turn-around will be quick, but with the holidays, I'm guessing they'll end up sitting on 'em for a bit. Chances of them being here by next weekend are slim to none IMO. In fact, I'm just hoping they can get 'em to me before Jan 9.

However, in the spirit of being prepared for a Christmas Miracle, bring your alignment kit when you come up to Carson. :)
