Uhhhhh Open Down pipe=headache
 

Ok so i'm selling my exhaust very soon and while I did brake swap I had the catback taken off so I can clean it up and sell it. I do like how pissed off it sounds but I have a massive headache from the fumes as well as the volume. Like... the ENTIRE car shakes when I go 50 percent throttle. I'm not sure i'll last like 2 days with it like this. You guys were so right before you said said open DP is just too much ; (. Like I said sounds badass... but like WAY WAY too loud.

That sucks. I've sheered my exhaust headers on my rally car twice , 3" past where they bolt onto the motor. I could drown out harley's at just 1/2 throttle , it was painful with a helmet on..


on a similar type subject how restrictive is a stock WRX muffler (its 2" in right?)

or how restrictive is the Stock STI muffler , is that 2.5 or 2" ? i'm thinking of putting one onto my rally car exhaust. the exhaust now feels great, (but its too loud) i don't want to hurt the performance but its too loud.

i know Dean likes the super craps.. but it will cost me more than re-using my old muffler or swaping for wrx. and i think it sorta muddies the exhaust sound in a weird way ... :?:

I could dyno before and after... :lol: but that would be a waste of cash me thinks

The 2005 STi that I have is 2.5". I have a 2003 WRX can on the N/A 2.2, it sounds nice.

Stock STI piping is 2.5 inches all the way stock WRX is 2.25 all the way. Yea lol I passed a Harley guy at 35 or so percent throttle and was louder and he stared at me. He's used to being the obnoxious guy around! I notice a loss in top end but a tiny bit quicker spool btw. I don't even like top end.. because it's too damn loud. Like 3k-4k rpms I would bet is louder than a Blitz Nur at WOT. I can't believe just how loud it is. At 2k RPM my entire cabin vibrates.

Exactly how it sounds inside cabin but that video doesn't express just how loud the damn set up is ; \. I'm running catless DP btw and 06's come catless UP. It's so insane. It pops like an SRT4 too.

How long are you stuck like that? oh you need a cat huh? i have access to my stock sti cat back but if you're gonna fix it with in a few days there's no point

If I can't find my stock DP and MP at Moose's... i'll take DP and MP from anyone who has stock one lying around they wanna get rid of.
