Hill Holder Delete!
Anyone know much about the Hill holders? I want to upgrade my Master Cylinder , but my current one has a 3rd line running to the hill holder pressure hold valve. i imagine very bad things will happen if i just replaced the MC and capped the end of the line that is supposed to run back. Namely first time i brake on a hill my brakes will be stuck on..
if i removed that Pressure hold valve and capped that end off, would i be ok? somehow that PHV is tied in with the left front and right rear brakes. At this point i don't want to re-run lines (the automatics don't have this evil device) I just want to swap my MC for the correct size for the RS brakes.. :?: |
Wouldn't this be something very well documented on Rs25.com?

I don't believe that the RS2.5 ever came with the hill holder. and a few nasioc postings said to just replace all the lines and MC from an automatic.
There's a few posting about Disabling it, but all they are doing it removing the cable that goes to the clutch (already done on my car) which is great, until you want to go from a 3 lined MC to a 2 lined MC ... :O the most complete is this rambling : You can just disconnect the cable. Full delete is as follows: I disconnected it and bought a brass flare Tee from Burt Subaru....part number 627002101 it has two tees in it, you only need to use one. Disconnect the hill holder hydraulic unit from the hardlines and connect them to one of the "tees" in the brass body (627002101). So i guess i can just Change my MC, and get a flared T from subaru and seal them off... sorta.. maybe... :| or i just keep trying things until my car stops when i press the brakes and rolls otherwise... |
RS25 is where most of the guys running 1.8s and 2.2s post, and that's what had Hill Holder.
You can completely eliminate it if you want. Not much to it. |
