Custom sub enclosure, 02-07 Impreza sedan

Traded this, it's gone!

I still have a custom sub box I made for my old car. It will fit any 02-07 Impreza sedan, and can probably be easily adapted to work in other cars as well. It fits a single 12" sub, the interior air space is 1.6 cu/ft. I built it with a notched back to fit with a rear strut brace. There are metal straps that attach to existing bolts under the back seat. It has internal bracing and it is built completely out of 3/4" MDF. It's very solid and it fits perfectly in the trunk. You can mount your amp to the back of it, which can be easily accessed by opening the pass through on the back seat. Also included are the carpeted trim board that attaches to the front of the box, the grill shown, and the floor piece that goes over the stock carpet. You can still access the spare tire as shown in the pics. I would like $75 for the whole setup, sub not included. If you need a sub I have a couple to choose from that work well in the box. One is a Boston Acoustics, the other is OZ Audio.

This is what you see with the trunk open, there's still a lot of useable space.

Still have access to the spare.

Khail, I still have those front door speakers I bought from you (I think they're some S. American company?). I'd be interested in a different set that can handle a bit more bass if you have anything like that. Those A-Pillars sound like a good idea for my car too. Thoughts?

I don't think the A-pillars will fit. I believe our wagons have a bit longer of a pillar than the sedan...

This is correct from what I've heard.

Cody, I don't have any component sets, but I do have some 6.5" speakers that may work well with your existing setup. They are made by Phass, which is some obscure high end brand that most have never heard of. I ran them for a couple of years, they are one of the better speakers I've tried. You could swap them in and see if you like them better.

Sounds good. Let me know a good time to pick them up. I should be free most of the weekend.

I can bring them to work (Reno Toyota) tomorrow if you want to swing by. I'll be here 9:30-7.

That *should* work, but I reserve the right to flake. :) I'll text or call before I come by. Let me know if you want more than like $50 for them. :)

No worries, I'll just keep them in the car in case you come by. $50 is actually exactly what I was thinking, but if you want to try them out first it's cool with me.

Bumping this up, I'd love to get this out of my garage. Any interest?

rory_a 2012-06-04 03:31 PM

I may be tempted on this... weight? PM me a price you're hoping to see with one of the subs, if you don't want to mention it here...

khail19 2012-06-04 08:11 PM

Just a guess, but the box probably weighs 20-25 pounds. I'd like to get $100 with the Boston sub or $175 with the OZ Audio sub.

Edit: I just saw that you have an underseat enclosure for sale, maybe we can work out a trade?

Edit #2: Thanks for the trade!
