Is this possible using only stock (GD Impreza) parts
Would it be possible to figure out a way to run 15" rims on an STI, all 4 corners.
I'de want to keep the STI 6 speed. (do a 4.44 conversion) the catch is you are only allowed to use factory parts off of turboed GD cars. i know that the 02 wrx brakes fit under 15's. you can swap the R180 for an R160, and run a wrx rear end. you can run WRX struts and hubs in the front, bolt your brakes and what not.. but what about half shafts? Diffs are free so maybe a custom diff to fit a wrx half shaft? can a wrx half shaft be combined with an STI one? I'm curious if I could make my STI fit into a certain class, very unlikely i would try to do this. just wondering / curious what people can come up with ! |
Use the FHI 4pot/2pot brakes. They're specifically designed for group n rally under 15" wheels on an sti. No need for anything like an r160 swap, you just need the calipers and 5x114.3 drilled rotors. Technically they're the same brakes the '06-'07 WRXs came with.

that route is so much easier, I think trying to make the car fit into CRS:GT would be impossible, or I'de have to run on 17's
the Class i'm thinking about allows update/backdate of "any" part with rims and tires being free, and motor internals, but not brakes. that's why i was asking if its possible to use the 6MT, and 15" rims, using only parts that SOA put on GD imprezas (sold here) that brake option works for Rally America super production (national class) or open guess an STI really belongs in open anyways... hehehe |
