I really thought I'd make BW, till I noticed it's on a weekday!! Who planned that? Is track time really that hard to purchase?

So while you're out racing (you no job having phonics monkey) I'll be programming. :P

dknv 2004-01-22 11:54 PM

Sounds like you need some vacation days, Sperry.

No, but keeping my job is. I'm salaried, I can't just take a day of "no pay"... if I want to do that, it opens a huge can of worms w/ HR. Perhaps if there's not much going on at work, I might be cool to take off a day, but I think I'm getting a reputation of not being a "team player" because I don't work 10 hrs a day due to meets, and I don't come in on the weekends because of AutoX. Once it starts cutting into the hours I'm supposed to be a work, then it's bad news. (Actually, now that I think about it, it *is* cutting into work... I took half a Friday off to prepare for NORPAC).

I swear, there are about 5 quotes from Office Space that came to mind while I was typing that...

(BTW Kevin: did you buy that P1 for me?)

No, I didn't get the P1 for you Scott, I thought you decided against it. I can pick it up this tuesday still if you want though.

That's cool, my ass is borke these days... (Oh NOS! Is tEh Y0uRs Ass BorK3d!!??!!?!one?!!!?) Maybe next paycheck, if the guy's still got one in good condition, I'll be in. But I gotta start putting some money aside to pay taxes... stupid capital gains. :(

Kevin M 2004-01-23 08:17 PM

I'm sure he'll still have it in a few weeks.

Quick way to get around capital gains (on a house)- but a house. gain equity through appreciation. sell it to your parents way below market value. take the loss on your income tax (and probably pay nothing  ). have them give it back to you- no taxes. hth. :D

Cool! Wanna give me a house? I'll try that next year.

Kevin M 2004-01-24 01:12 AM

Me? You're the one who's salaried bud. :P Besides, I won't have any taxable income this year anyway, hehehe. God I love being a student again.
