The reason it sounds like a joke is that:
1) going driving on public streets to prove something to camaro and mustang (or any other car for that matter) owners is a terrible idea
2) going out in a group looking for off the path back-roads without cops is a great way to crash some cars, as group mentality tends to make people over-drive and show off
3) the spelling/grammar sounds like a high schooler is organizing this via text messages, which doesn't lend confidence that this will be a well organized event
So basically, this seems like it's barely one step above an invite to a street race... which rubs people the wrong way around here. Don't get me wrong, group drives can be fun, but they absolutely must have a non-showoff feel to them where responsible driving is emphasized... and even then sometimes you crash an EVO into a pickup... don't ask me how I know.
If you (or the original author of the invite for that matter) really want to show the american iron folks what Subarus can do, come to an autocross, or better yet this Saturday's
PDX/Time Trial event at Reno-Fernley Raceway, or the one on (surprise!)
August 11.
