Default Harddrive not showing up.

I just got my new hard drive in the mail today. Its a SATA connection. My existing hard drive is connected by a ribbon that also connects my dvd burner. All I did was put my new hard drive in under my existing one, plug in the red SATA wire to my mother board, and the power wire. "legacy power" I think its called? I noticed that there is a spot on the new hard drive to connect SATA power, is that needed?

Anyways I restarted my computer and my new drive isn't showing up. There are no jumpers on the back of the new drive and my old drive has 2 jumpers on the back in the "master 0" setting. When I start the computer it lists the drives in my startup as
Primary Master: none
Primary Slave: none
Secondary Master: my old hard drive
Secondary Slave: my dvd burner

Thats all the info that I can think of. I'm gonna restart to make sure thats what its saying.

Help
