Was there no pre-race show on Fox, or was it listed as a separate program? My recording started during the parade lap... about 15 seconds into the broadcast the lights went out.

Fox should be ashamed to have skipped Peter Winsor in the pit lane pre-race... it really takes away from the excitement of the race start when there's no build up, and Peter is an exceptional pit lane broadcaster.
At least they didn't have Derek Daly in the booth dropping the IQ of the broadcast to sub-NASCAR levels.
As far as the race itself... it was easily one of the best F1 races of the last 5 years. Lots of twists and turns, and some great drives by people you wouldn't expect to do well.

I really think a lot of it has to do w/ the layout of the track in Canada... some very fast straights into tight turns and chicanes lends well to passing opportunities. Plus the lack of runoff in many spots means Canada is well known for being a Safety Car track, which despite my loathing of the use of the pace car in NASCAR, does in fact make the races a bit more interesting by playing with pit strategies mid-race and closing up the field.
