So, I did pick up the new Pendulum album In Silico a few weeks ago. Its quite possibly some of the most mainstream Drum and Bass that I've heard in a long time. Great to listen too, but its sugary sweet packaging hurts your teeth after a while. Strangely enough, I get a lot of classic prog-rock feel from the song structure, instead of standard DnB riffs. I've also noticed that they've changed their group in liner notes. Instead of 3 DJs, there are now 2 DJ/Keyboard, 1 Singer/Keyboard/Guitar, 1 Guitar, 1 Bass and 1 Drummer.

And because I'm too hardcore to care about mainstream DnB, I had to also pick up Evol Intents new one, Era of Diversion. But, strangely enough, they also worked on quite a few crossover songs as well with Messinian, Cypher Linguistics and BANE. I'm actually impressed with how well the album ties together, despite all the seeming randomness. Ooh, also forgot to mention that there are a good collection of IDM style songs. I can't say, though, that they sound all that good. They sound like Aphex Twin, but not really in a good way. They almost sound exactly like Aphex Twin, without any of their own sound mixed in, which is a shame.
Crossover songs:
The Foreward w/ Messinian
Death, Lies and Video Tape w/ Cypher Linguistics
Smoke and Mirrors w/ Adam Bendard of BANE
More traditional DnB stuff
Middle of the Night(Trance + DnB)
Dead On Arrival(More of the horror type stuff they are known for)
8-bit Bitch (Spor Remix) (Again more of the horror type stuff)
Bleh, there is my electronic output for the month.
