You'd think you could hook up a nice place for relatively low money. For example, the place Lisa and I were renting before we bought our current house we were paying only $1350 for... and that was a 1400sqft 3 bedroom place, with pretty damn large bedrooms. $1350 is about what I was paying when I lived in a 3 bedroom unit on South Meadows 5 years earlier!

I totally see where you're coming from! My place right now: 1225 sq ft, 2 master bdrms, 2.5 bath, 2 car garage, hot tub, etc., $950 a month. My sis owns the place, and she's in the boat you mentioned, second "investment" house, that she's now
forced to rent.
I do know that Em is in the "21 and broke as hell" situation tho... so there's big limits.
