Yeah the start to Sunday's course was fun, but it was brutal on the clutch. I could launch at 4K, grab 2nd flat foot it, then just tap the brakes to get around the slalom . We need to try having a few starts that have a long straight, and a hair pin before the timing lights so there's really no need to abuse the car on the start. well maybe not that extreme, but at least a narrow 90 degree turn after about good distance then timing lights.  |
We need to keep a mix of hard and soft launches. The stock class cars (or underpepared modded ones) can't hang with a full drag launch, but on the other hand PAX and SP/SM and up classes are expected to be able to launch hard. I happen to be able to launch the dogcrap out of my car now, so if I never get to do that I'm getting a pax disadvantage, and if we always have drag starts I get an advantage. So it needs to be a mix.
