Yeah, spacers will help. Depending on how much space you need, don't go over 5mm. If you need more, you'll have to look at spacers with longer studs.

Sids downtown sells the small spacers. Summit (I think) sells the ones with longer studs. You are looking at $20 for 5mm spacers, or $100 for spacers with extra studs.
