XP support?
RAID 1 is fine, but for your budget, you'll be using onboard "software RAID" which takes a touch of resources from the computer, but that's fine.  The downside of RAID is that, if the RAID controller (motherboard in your case) dies, I don't think you can get to your files until you get another identicle one.  Dean will correct me if I'm wrong.
