I have the Whiteline 22mm two-way adjustable front which I believe is as thick as you can get with wagon fitment, but I could be wrong. I have a Cusco 3-way adjustable 22mm in the rear.

There is actually a company making a 25mm adjustable solid bar for the wagon now! Probably wouldn't really need something that stiff for what he is looking for though.
Hotchkis or Whiteline are both good. Hotchkis are hollow, and Whiteline are solid if that matters to you.
