What if you sold someone something, then months later after the transactions been complete they start chasing you around the internet looking for a refund telling you that the part they've had for a long time is the wrong part? Would you believe them?
Frankly, if I were to sell something and they didn't contact me at most a day or two after receiving it that it's the wrong part, I'd tell them to pound sand. Granted, I wouldn't try to sell something to someone without being very explicit about what I'm selling (for example, I'd definitely be sure of the ratio on a set of gears or whatever), but if the buyer perhaps didn't know what they were buying they better get in touch with me immediately to return the part and get a refund. After a few days, it's their own damn fault for buying the wrong part.

No, payback for becoming unresponsive after promising to resend the correct part (admitting fault). Sending the incorrect part, initially, sounds like it could be an honest mistake. Saying you'll have to look in your garage for the correct part and then becoming unresponsive = understandable aggravation.
