No, it won't

SOHC's have the same issues on 2.5 blocks, it's just not quite as common becuase they were produced later in the revision cycle and never had the crappy gaskets which cause the issue in the first place.
Also, SOHC's blow the HG's externally, and tend to have more extensive head damage when they go, in my expereince
My DOHC didn't go until 120k, and that was with me abusing the hell out of the car.
DOHC revs better, too
