In spirit yes, in flesh, no. The new one whips the old one in every measurable performance factor, despite being almost 1000 pounds heavier and passing all modern emissions and crash standards. Plus, I always seem to prefer a road car to it's race version. Just like I prefer touring sedans to stock cars, and WRC to F1. "Real" cars going racing appeal to me more than LM cars with a few hundred "road" versions to meet silly FIA homologation rules.

With the 240... well, the 350Z didn't survive modernization as well as the GT did. It's still cool, but compared to its competition, it doesn't shine like the 240 did.
