Just saw this question.
I spun a bearing on the #3 rod at the Club Trials in June. I was pushing the motor pretty hard trying to catch the STis. This was after the 6-speed and GT30-10 turbo, so it was a little too easy to keep the car in the boost and near the red-line... resulting in a bit of detonation.

here. It's hard to really tell in the video, but it happened as I topped out 3rd gear exiting the turn-around on the last lap of the session.
Since then, I've got a 2.5L STi short block in the car, but I'm still breaking it in, and resolving some issues, like a leaky fuel rail. Hopefully it'll be good to go in the next week or two.
