Um, I don't think so. While many hundreds were killed in the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, a grand total of 305 (If I did the math correctly)have been killed since in California due to earthquakes. And typically, they hit every 75-100 years in a given location. The most recent ones in memory, Loma Prieta in N. CA, and Northridge in S. CA killed 63, and 57 respectively. As far as a quick Google Search can tell, there has never been a recorded fatality in Nevada due to an earthquake.
Hundreds and thousands of people are killed almost every year in the south by Hurricanes, and Tornadoes they know are coming. Thanks but no thanks. I'll live in the West and take my chances with Earthquakes.
