That some great footage Dean! I'm down in Carson as well, visiting my folks place. The front of the house got sandbagged this morning, as they live in a neighborhood with similar geography (with a creek only 100ft from the back door). Fortunately, the drainage hasn't challenged the bags yet and things are flowing nicely. I was out last night around midnight in downtown Carson, and man there was a lot of flow down from the King's Canyon area!

A check of the Clear Creek USGS streamflow gauge data indicates that levels have reached the peak recorded in 1997. Fortunately due to the lack of snowpack, there is little chance for a region-wide repeat of that year's events (Carson, Walker, and Truckee levels not near the 1997 amounts). However, the localized flooding seems to be on par (side canyons, creeks, and low areas).

The rain just turned to snow here on the slopes west of downtown Carson...
