Everyone, it's Cody's perogative to post his experiences with Crucial. So what if he likes a brand you don't use... the whole "nut swingers" thing is retarded, let it go.
Cody, feel free to represent for Crucial all you want, but don't spam other people's threads with unrelated product reviews. If someone asks "what do you think about X?" and you don't know anything about X, chances are that thread isn't in need of your opinion.
As far as the Crucial stuff in particular... I've never used it, and I've never seen it on any of the cars I race against. If it's really such great stuff, then it's a well hidden secret, at least locally. It's just been my experience that "well hidden secrets" last about 10 minutes in a competative environment... if you're faster than everyone, everyone figures out why tout de suite. So if everyone's running Cobb or Invidia instead of the Crucial stuff, I have to ask myself if there's a valid reason. Could it be that we're all brand snobs, and resist change? Sure. Could it be that the stuff we use is better than the stuff we don't use? Just as likely. If you're shopping for parts, you're just gonna have to do some research of your own and make your own decision... kinda like what the rest of us did.
All I know is that I'd turn my attention to those that are acually using these bits in the manner you intend to use them, and look towards the people that have tried a ton of stuff over the years. For example, I'll never run Skunk 2 coilovers on my race car because I've never seen them on a race car, and the racers that have gone through 10 times the different setups that I've gone through say they're garbage on the race track. However, if I were just looking to lower my car for cheap, and didn't care too much about rebuildability, ride quality, or performance, then I might as well save myself a chunk of change and go w/ some Skunk 2's if that's what people on the car show circuit are recommending.
Now I'm not implying Crucial DP's are the Skunk 2 coilovers of DP's. I'm just illustrating the process people should be going through when looking at aftermarket parts. If you're gonna ask people what you should buy, make sure you know how to evaluate the opinions of the people you're asking. And if you're being asked what works, just drop the facts. If you're going to recommend something, how about a reason why it's so great? Enough with the "my shit's better than your shit"... we'll see who's shit stinks less in the season standings come November.
