I put mine above the rearview mirror. There's power up there for the auto-dimming mirror that's ACC switched, which is perfect for the V1. Remember, the higher up the detector, the better it's range is!!
I also got the remote display, but I've found that just above the mirror is actually pretty nice, so I haven't installed the display... if anyone can come up with a dope remote display location, I'm all ears!
